What the Spread Reveals

As you can see in the illustration, this spread entails five cards in total, four that showcase the energies for your Birthday and the coming year, related to Body, Mind, Heart, and Spirit. The fifth card is a special Message card that addresses your special Birthday Wish for yourself!

To begin this spread, shuffle the cards carefully, spread them out in a long line in front of you, then allow your Higher Self to draw the five cards from the deck. This should be done carefully and with calm focus, while you meditate on the focus of each card. Focus on:

• Card 1 - Your Body and Health
• Card 2 - Your Mind and Intellect
• Card 3 - Your Heart and Relationships
• Card 4 - Your Spirit and Evolution
• Card 5 - Your Special Birthday Wish

Laying out the cards

Either print out the Blessed Birthday layout page, or have it open on your computer screen with room in front of your desk or table for the five cards. As you draw the five cards, one by one, lay them on the table surface before you in the order outlined above, finishing with the fifth central card that is placed on the Victorian Birthday card image in the center. Begin with the first card in the upper left; the second card directly below it. Follow this with the third card in the upper right corner, and the fourth in the lower right side. Finish with the Special Wish card as you actually make a wish while drawing it.

This spread will help you to both reflect and aspire, drawing in the growth and development that you exhibit today, on your Birthday - energies that you will further develop and work on in this coming year. It is helpful if you let your ego and conscious mind relax, you release any preconceived ideas about the correct choice, and just allow your Higher Self to speak to you through the cards you draw.

Lily, a mother, grandmother, professional woman, writer, and graduate student is celebrating her 53rd birthday and has drawn the following cards. How would you interpret her reading?

LILY'S CARDS

• Card One THE EMPRESS - This card reveals the essential energy of the body or physical lessons you are currently experiencing and should work on this coming year. As far as Lily's body goes, she wants to lose about 40 pounds of excess weight, she doesn't get enough sleep and works seven days a week. She is in peri-menopause as well.
  
  
• Card Two - THE THREE OF CUPS - This card reveals the essential energy of the mind or intellectual lessons you are currently experiencing and should work on this coming year. As far as Lily's mind goes, she is working on her PhD dissertation and hopes to receive her PhD in the coming year.
  
  
• Card Three - THE ACE OF SWORDS - This card reveals the essential energy of the heart or relationship lessons you are currently experiencing and should work on this coming year. As far as Lily's relationships go, she is in a long-standing marriage that has had it's ups and downs, and is supporting all of her children who are experiencing many pitfalls of the heart and mind.
  
  
• Card Four - THE ACE OF CUPS - This card reveals the essential energy of the spirit or soul lessons you are currently experiencing and should work on this coming year. As far as Lily's spiritual evolution goes, she is a very mystical person, and uses many forms of meditation, visualization, and other spiritual healing methods to keep herself strong.
