The first step to truly tuning into crystals is to realize that they are living beings, not inanimate objects. This may seem very fanciful or even insane, but if you rationally think about how crystals grow and shape themselves into intricate, incredibly beautiful and powerful entities, you may understand what I mean. Crystals take millions of years to grow to a respectable size, hence they are the oldest living beings on Mother Earth. This is why I refer to them as the true Earth Children. The ideal way to choose a crystal is to visit a store that sells them, doing so with a relaxed and open mind, one that allows you to 'feel' the stones with your inner being. Allowing the crystal to choose you is the ultimate frame of mind. If you have the luxury of visiting a shop that sells several different types of crystals, all the better!
